Uptown! Knauer Performing Arts Center is an exciting and unique event venue located in downtown West Chester, Pennsylvania. It opened its doors in October 2015 and is a fully renovated former schoolhouse with a 600-seat theatre. Featuring new sound equipment from Cirque du Soleil and digital lighting controls, this beautiful venue has become the go-to spot for music, theater, dance performances, and more. Designed to be both intimate and spacious at the same time, it offers something special no matter what type of performance you want to experience.
Established in 2017, Uptown Knauer Performing Arts Center is a unique Chester County, PA destination for world-class performing arts in historic downtown West Chester. Built in 1916, and proudly holding five preservation and community impact awards, this former armory is now home to professional theatre, music, dance, comedy, and film in a modernized, accessible, and acoustically ideal space. Performances are held in an intimate 327-seat Mainstage theatre and 85-seat Cabaret, with additional classroom space for students. Uptown is located near parking, shopping, and restaurants in a thriving and exciting downtown.
